The multiple faces of terrorism in Cuba. Report 10 – CEU-CEFAS. April of 2025
5,00€
The Cuban dictatorship has resorted to political violence and terrorism since its inception. Over time, the intensity and expressions of terror have changed and become integrated into more complex strategies. However, the regime has never apologized, has never stopped protecting its perpetrators and has always sought to legitimize terror at an international level.
Castroism in Cuba resorted to terror and violence to establish its dictatorship in 1959 and has continued to be involved in criminal or violent acts in order to maintain its anti-democratic regime for more than 60 years. Fidel Castro has been associated to political violence since his youth. The press of those years linked him to at least three assassinations, but he was never convicted due to lack of evidence. But it was in the 1950s when it became clear that the emerging Revolution was going to use terrorism as its main weapon to secure power.
