María Saavedra Inaraja
She holds a PhD in American History from the Complutense University of Madrid (1998), and is currently Professor of American History at the CEU San Pablo University (Madrid). He directs the CEU Elcano International Chair. Naval History and Culture, since its creation in July 2019. Author of four books, including the historical novel El capitán de la Victoria. Letras desde la mar de Juan Sebastián Elcano. He has published numerous articles in specialized journals, as well as works in collective works. He is part of the faculty of the Military History Course organized annually by the Institute of Military History. He has carried out research stays in Lima, Montevideo and Buenos Aires. Among the awards and distinctions received, it is worth highlighting the Rafael Altamira Research Award and the Caballeros de Yuste Research Award. In 2020 she was decorated with the Grand Cross of Naval Merit with white distinction. He regularly collaborates in the media and promotes various activities of historical dissemination.
